Dr. Rachael Weiss
Rachael attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received her B.S. in Biology and Psychology. She continued her education and obtained her D.V.M. from The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. After graduation, Dr. Weiss worked in large animal private practice and focused on small ruminant and equine reproduction and medicine. After working four years in private practice, she completed a 6 month internship in equine reproduction and then pursued a three year residency in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine at the Wilds in Cumberland, OH. Dr. Weiss is currently the owner of Applied Reproductive Concepts, LLC which is a clinical practice focused on small ruminant reproduction. Her professional interests include wildlife reproduction and management, anesthesia, immunology and sustainable use of wildlife.
Dr. Wagner
Dr. Wagner is a technical service veterinarian for Newport Laboratories. He is the case coordinator for all cervid, bison and diary samples submitted. His main focus is working with veterinarians and producers to identify pathogens affecting their herds and assist in providing solutions to limit their future effects. Prior to this position he was an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal practice in Lancaster County, PA. While in practice one of Dr. Wagner’s main focus was cervid medicine and surgery. He was able to identify a need for better management of sick fawns and develop a method of teaching the producer to recognize and treat fawns in critical situations. He continues to provide consultation services for cervid producers and is an advocate for the cervid industry. He currently resides in Pennsylvania with his wife and two children.
Dr. Samples
Dr. Samples received his V.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. His practice is limited to large and exotic animals, specializing in coordination of international health protocol. He is a member of Livestock Exporters Association of the USA and has served as chairman of the Ruminant Protocol Committee for more than 10 years where he is responsible for advising USDA\APHIS on health protocol for the export of live animals. He has been involved with the export of more than 500,000 animals from Pennsylvania over the past 40 years. He has traveled to several countries and helped importers develop health management systems for American animals after their arrival in the foreign countries.
Dr. Joy Lenker
Dr. Joy Lenker, DVM, is the owner of Great Creatures Veterinary Services, PC, in Herndon, PA. The solely ambulatory practice serves bovine, equine, cervidae, small ruminant, and canine patients. Graduating from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, Dr. Lenker worked in two large animal private practices before starting her own practice in July 2014. She began working with whitetail deer while in veterinary school and has grown her education through private practice in both individual cases and herd based medicine. Dr. Lenker and her husband, as well as their three children and various animals, reside on a beef and crop farm.
Elam Lapp, Jr.
Elam is the owner of Raw Frozen Scents. After growing up with whitetail deer on his family’s farm, Elam set out to start a company that built on his family’s legacy and mirrored his own values and passions. His love of the outdoors, his desire to innovate, and his aspiration to provide his customers with the highest-quality product in the market positioned him well to lead Raw Frozen Scents for years to come.
